Wassily Kandinsky's Network of above was painted in 1927 during his return to Germany while he led classes at the Bauhaus, where he developed his approach in regards to color theory and the correlation of shapes and forms with psychology. His abstract work, during this period, was a reflection on the effects and the relation between strong, straight lines and the contrasting shapes of curved and angled figures. The socks have seamless knitting to create a sock with no stitches.
