From the artist, Becka Rahn:
1. Rue de Magenta This design is named for the Paris street where Georges Seurat lived. It is an original digital illustration of an imagined Paris skyline as painted in the style of Seurat.
2. Chromoluminary This fabric was created from cut paper and watercolor illustrations. I scanned and combined the original illustrations and then digitally printed the design onto fabric. This design was inspired by themes from the show Sunday in the Park with George, starting with a blank page transforming into an image with color and depth.
3. Sailing the Seine This fabric was created from a cut paper illustration made from painted and recycled papers. I scanned the original illustration and digitally added a pointillism texture. It was inspired by the sailboats on the pond in the painting “A Sunday on La Grande Jatte” by Georges Seurat.
