“Beautiful fabrics tell me what to create.”
Maribeth Hite is a former costumer and current quilter who creates vivid fabric pieces using Victorian crazy quilt techniques. Each handstitched quilt is made from silks and brocades and enhanced with embroidery and beading. As a former Costume Director at the Guthrie, she believes her background in theatrical costuming and design theory allows her to develop a sense of drama in her pieces. Color, texture and beautiful fabrics all work together to create one-of-a-kind pieces made from recycled fabrics used in past Guthrie shows.
